The protection of Tasmania's ancient forests is an issue of national and global significance. People from all around the world have demonstrated their support for the protection of these world heritage value forests.

On September 1st 2009 actions were held around the world to call for world heritage protection of Tasmania's ancient forests and an end to the industrial scale woodchipping that is destroying these globally renowned pristine forests. Participating  Australian cities included: Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra and Newcastle. International participants included: Scotland, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland.

What You Can Do
This is a global issue. Take a stand against the destruction of world heritage value forests in Tasmania. Hold an action or event in your city. Send us a photo to include on this page. Lets show the Australian government that the whole world is watching, and that the international community will not tolerate the destruction of the world's remaining old growth forests.
